Provost Santiago Schnell has stepped down from his role at Dartmouth following an investigation into his adherence to the institution's guidelines regarding artificial intelligence.
The university disclosed on Wednesday that this departure came after a campus committee finalized its review of the situation, which had been initiated back in September. The committee's findings indicated that "The Provost used AI to meaningfully alter his writing in violation." This resignation stems from accusations that the high-ranking Dartmouth administrator breached the established rules concerning the use of AI at the school.
