30 (UPI) -- Meta settled a social media addiction lawsuit with an 18-year-old Mississippi woman on Friday, after jury selection had already started for a trial. The plaintiff, identified as K.D.B. in the suit, alleged that using Instagram and Snapchat made her mental health worse and added to her eating disorder, suicidal thoughts, depression and self-harm, the Hill reported.

Her case was consolidated with another plaintiff, named S.J., who is a teenager from Illinois. Her suit alleges that SnapChat's features boosted her compulsive use of the social media platform and added to her depression, eating disorder, anxiety and self-harm.

S.J. settled with Meta last week. The trial is still set to continue against SnapChat's parent company, Snap, which is the only social media organization among the defendants that hasn't settled.
